LITTLE SISTER
Little Sister is a very small house that got a certain amount of attention when it was published in Martha Stewart Living magazine, just as the "tiny house" movement was catching people's imagination. The four of us lived there for four years, while the kids were smaller and we weren't yet sure that living in the "country" was for us. We had to be pretty disciplined about new stuff, and we had to negotiate privacy, but I think we'd agree that it knit us together as a unit more tightly. We're happy with its new role as somewhere for friends to stay overnight, for a week while they figure something out in quiet, or for months while they gut their house and fix it up.
